The Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) was established under the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority Act 2008 (Act 687) as the authority responsible for providing direction and for devising policies and strategies in relation to socio-economic development in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (Koridor Utara), which encompasses 21 districts in northern Peninsular Malaysia in the states of Kedah, Perak, Perlis and Penang.

Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) is the statutory body responsible for establishing directions, policies and programmes for the Northern Corridor Economic Region (Northern Corridor).
Incorporated in June 2008, the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), is a body corporate established with the objectives:-
a) To promote and accelerate the development of the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) into a world-class economic region and a choice destination for investment, work and living; and
b) To ensure that social development and sustainable development are kept as priorities whilst driving economic growth in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER).
NCIA comprises of four (4) main division i.e. Agriculture, Manufacturing, Tourism and Logistics, and enabler divisions, i.e. Education & Human Capital, Marketing & Investor Relations, Corporate Services.
