In compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's requirement on all foreign banks to be locally incorporated, Bangkok Bank Berhad was incorporated on 12 May 1994 to take over the whole operations of Kuala Lumpur Branch of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited
